Bethany’s Hot Cocoa Ministry returned in 2021, this year serving 40 volunteers staffing the SSIP Food Closet’s Thanksgiving grocery give-away day on Saturday, November 20. Several Bethany members and friends gathered the day before in the church. kitchen to prepare home-baked goodies. Five more joined the team Saturday morning to make coffee and serve the Food Closet volunteers.
More than $40 in pocket change was tossed in the “SSIP Food Closet boot” at Bethany’s Nov. 14 worship service.

Wear your walking shoes and dress for the weather Sunday, Nov. 14! We’ll be taking a nature walk at the Cosumnes River Preserve starting around 1 p.m., ending at whatever time you choose! Several dozen Bethany members and friends participated “live, in person” at the church’s April 4, 2021 Easter Sunday service held in the parking lot. Due to COVID-19 health and safety restrictions, this was the first in-person service held by Bethany in over nine months.

The Presbyterian Church (USA) has developed an interesting, fact-filled video about anti-Asian violence related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Bethany attendee Rev. Janice Kamikawa assisted in the production of the video, which you can view online.
