Fellowship & Hospitality
Bethany is known for being a friendly place, welcoming guests with open arms on all occasions. The church’s Fellowship Commission organizes events to encourage members, regular attendees, and visitors to get to know each other even better.
Favorites among Bethany activities are the Ice Cream Social (September), Thanksgiving Dessert Day (November), Christmas Eve Reception (December), Easter Continental Breakfast (spring), Mother’s Day Tea (May) and several seasonal nature walks, each with a tailgate party. Monthly “senior day” movie outings are also popular.
Fellowship Commission volunteers assist with other events as well, such as receptions, and organize the weekly Sunday morning refreshment time that follows the worship service. Volunteer to be a helper—it’s a fantastic way to meet others and serve others.
The Hospitality Commission supports the Fellowship Commission and other committees in efforts to “be the hands and feet of Christ” within the church and in the community. Issuing the Communicator newsletter (mailed to homes of those not using online media), editing the Sunday bulletin, keeping the website updated, taking pictures and producing flyers are a few of the tasks. Volunteers are always appreciated, especially those with writing/editing/communications/photography skills.
