Close to three dozen humans … plus a number of their animal family members … participated in Bethany’s annual “Blessing of the Pets” service held October 4 on the church lawn.

Bethany is now offering a weekly exercise class Thursdays at 9 a.m. in the Social Hall. The class is open to all; no RSVP is required … just show up in comfy clothes at 8:45 a.m. ready for gentle stretching and balance-boosting exercise. A donation of $3-$5 per class is suggested.
Lend a hand at the annual fall volunteer work weekend at Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center (Lake Tahoe). October 1 is the deadline to sign up.
Gather in prayer, reflection and song as we stand with our immigrant neighbors and their families. This multi-faith prayer vigil—sponsored by Sacramento Area Congregations Together—is happening Wednesday, October 21, at the John Moss Federal Building at 12 noon.
Bethany will again observe Reformation Sunday by celebrating with special Scottish refreshments on Sunday, October 25. The worship service starts 10:30 a.m., with goodies at 11:30 a.m. Wear tartan or plaid!
All Saints Day has become a tradition at Bethany as we remember and celebrate the lives of those who have gone before. Bring photos of loved ones to display on the “celebration of life” tables … and light a candle in remembrance of someone special during the November 1 worship service.
