IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE FROM HOME

Here are some opportunities to help you stay connected with a worship community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Worship

Our weekly worship and special worship service are open to all people, and there is no cost to attend (although we do collect a free-will offering at most services as a part of our worship). We gather for worship on Sundays at 10:30am, and at other times for special holiday services, weddings and funeral/memorial services. Members and friends of the congregation help to lead the community in worship through music, prayer, and scripture reading, and we are always looking for new voices to step up to the mic!

Service

Christian service takes many forms. There is the service to our neighbors and community (sometimes called "mission" or "social service”), the service to the church itself (volunteering around the office and grounds), participating in worship as a singer or musician (or reader), serving on activity committees, or as an elected elder. Among other service opportunities are:

  • “Fifth Monday” volunteer work at the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership Food Closet (every 5th Monday of the year)

  • Bethany’s annual Hot Cocoa Ministry (the Monday before Thanksgiving)

  • Sprucing Up in the Pines building and grounds work days at Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center (May and October)

  • Good Neighbor Team supporting refugee families (year-round)

  • Widow’s Mite collection campaign to provide homeless persons with clothing and water (year-round)

  • and more.

Prayer

Prayer is a continual part of the life of Bethany Presbyterian Church. In each Sunday's worship bulletin you will find listed the prayer requests for the week. We invite you to take these home and pray for one another, our neighborhoods and our world community through the week.

Start the MP3 habit! Each Monday, stop and spend a moment in personal Prayer at 3 p.m.!

To add a name to the prayer list, please contact the church office.
