This coming Tuesday, April 1, Bethany family and friends are invited to enjoy the newest in the “The Chosen” series—“The Last Supper, Part 1.” We'll meet at 11 a.m. in the lobby at the Century Cinemark Laguna Theater, 9349 Big Horn Blvd., Elk Grove. The movie starts at 11:15 a.m. Tickets are $7 each. Here are details.
More than 100 community members enjoyed the sounds (and memories) of Peter, Paul & Mary at the free “Pass It On” concert held yesterday afternoon at Bethany. Featuring the musical talents of Peter Baird, Mike Hersher and Lily Baird Young, the concert included 90 minutes of beloved classics. Many thanks to all who participated, who volunteered as greeters and on the reception team, and to whose who donated to the collection basket benefiting the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership Food Closet. Thank you, Food Closet volunteers! Today (March 31), Nga Chau, Janna Humpheys, Kathy Kingsbury, Manh Ong and Tom Uhrhammer (not shown in the photo) were busy working at the SSIP Food Closet. Ask any of them what volunteering is like … and maybe you will want to sign up for Bethany’s next “fifth Monday,” when we will need five volunteers. The next 5th Monday is June 30. Sign-ups will start in April.
Bethany members and friends continue to enjoy Tuesdays at the movies! This group saw “Snow White” last week. To see photos of all of the Movie Group outings. click here. There’s always a link to the latest movie that’s upcoming up …
Helpers are needed to prepare the sanctuary for Easter Sunday and to stuff plastic eggs with candy for the annual Easter Egg Hunt (which is held during the Easter Sunday service). We'll meet at 10 a.m. on April 18 and conclude around 11:30 a.m. with a brief Good Friday devotion.
Easter is coming ... which means it's time for our annual “One Great Hour of Sharing” collection. Presbyterians join with millions of other Christians through One Great Hour of Sharing to share God's love with people experiencing need. Envelopes will be available during worship services; please take one home and return it Palm Sunday or Easter with your contribution. Even the smallest donation will help! You can also give directly to this important mission cause by clicking here.
The 40 days leading up to Easter are a time for contemplation and thinking about Christ’s mission … and the promise of eternal life. Click for more details.
