In partnership with Grace Community Church, Bethany is recruiting volunteers to participate in the CROP Hunger Walk.
The CROP Hunger Walk raises funds to fight hunger locally and throughout the world. One CROP Hunger Walk beneficiary is the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership Food Closet, which serves more than 10,000 people each month from the Bethany/Grace Church campus. Our team goal this year is $1,500.
Click here and select the blue box “I want to join the team" it you want to walk—whether on your own or with our team. You’ll be asked to register and create a password. You’ll also be given a personal fundraising link you can post on Facebook and other social media.
You can walk on your own or with fellow team members.
IF YOU WANT TO WALK WITH OTHERS, you have two opportunities:
Saturday, May 29, starting 8 a.m. — A short, leisurely walk at your own pace in and around William Land Park. Meet at the amphitheater behind Fairy Tale Town. Map.
Saturday, June 5, starting 8 a.m. — A slightly more strenuous walk through the scenic American River Parkway. Meet in the first parking lot (shown on the map as “bike trail parking”) as you enter River Bend Park on Rod Beaudry Drive (off Folsom Blvd. between Bradshaw Road and Mather Field Road). Park entrance fee is $5/vehicle; the pay kiosk will accept your credit card or cash. The walk will be 2-3 miles long. Bring water and wear sunscreen. Please RSVP to Cathy if you plan to attend so we can know to expect you. Map.
