Bethany is now reading and and preparing to discuss the “children’s” classic A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L’Engle.
There will be two discussion sessions:
Monday, October 4 • 10-11:30 a.m. in the church Social Hall (or via Zoom)
Monday, October 11 • 10-11:30 a.m. in the church Social Hall (or via Zoom)
The informal gatherings will allow readers the chance to explore various aspects of the book, which was awarded the prestigious Newberry Medal prize in 1962. The novel wrestles with questions of spirituality and purpose, as the characters are often thrown into conflicts of love, divinity and goodness.
Gently used copies of the book are now available for just $4 along with a list of characters. Contact Cathy Sapunor if you would like a copy mailed or dropped off to you.
Rev. Janice Kamikawa and Cathy Sapunor—who co-led last summer’s Samurai’s Garden book group—will again facilitate.
If you have children or grandchildren, you can read along with them, or aloud to them! Youth are invited to participate in the discussions as well.
