Rev. Jesse Larson led today’s worship service, reading aloud from John 10:1-10. In observation of Labor Day, today’s hymns focused on the work we have to do as God’s representatives of peace, grace and hope in the world. He shared advice from a leading Christian writer about how to make our lives more meaningful in times of chaos and stress.
Communion was served. Grab your own crackers and a beverage to partake at home as you view this portion of the service.
In recognition of all of the “guardian angels”—the first responders, wildfire-fighters and rescue workers currently risking their lives to help others—today’s communion table decorations feature angels, part of Bethany member Mary Harbison’s treasured collection. She shared the angels today in observance of her birthday.
