Friends in Faith—
The second Sunday of Advent is focused on the theme of "peace." Our scripture passage this coming Sunday will be from Mark 1:1-8—concerning John the Baptist calling for us to prepare the way of the Lord! As our Advent journey of anticipation continues, we'll spend some time reflecting on what we should bring along with us, as well as what would be wisest to leave behind.
Musicians John Doolittle and Sherry McHurd Hanson will join with pianist Natalya Guerrero to create some very special music. Jim Guida is always ready with a message for the children, so bring the little ones with you to church! And during our “moment for mission” we will hear from Rev. Dr. Stephen Moon, who directs the Presbyterian-based “Mosaics” ministry in Davis.
Still looking for volunteers! There are two sign-up forms on the announcement table in the sanctuary—one is for volunteers for treats and hosts for coffee hour and the other is for folks who'd like to offer a song or two in worship. Many hands make light work and we appreciate your help! Office Manager Maria Mar has created these handy sign-up links foro you to use:
Volunteer to sing or play an instrument
Volunteer to bring snacks and/or help serve refreshments

KEEP IN YOUR PRAYERS:
One of Bethany's older members passed away on Monday morning—Margery Borger. She had not been active for many years, but she still considered Bethany to be her church home. There will be a small memorial service for her at Bethany on Thursday, December 1 at 10 a.m.
Rowena Frick’s father, Ernesto Olmos, passed away on Tuesday evening. He was surrounded by his loving family. .
Blessings,
Jesse
