Rev. Jesse Larson led today’s service, which observed the first Sunday in Advent. The first Advent candle—the candle of hope—was lit and communion was served. The scripture reading was Mark 13:24-37.
The choir, directed by Barbara Greene, presented the anthem—a medley of Away In A Manger (which featured a solo by Sylvia Alamillo) and O Come, All Ye Faithful. Manh Ong (on the guitar) and Cathy Sapunor (on the piano) accompanied the singing.
Vocalist-guitarist Peter Baird presented several musical arrangements during the service.
Rev. Jesse’s sermon reminded everyone of the importance of keeping hope alive.
