"Blue Christmas" Service Offered Solace & Comfort
On December 8, Bethany hosted an informal “Blue Christmas” service—so named because it is common for people to feel a “bit blue” around the holiday season. The service enabled participants to find solace and comfort from the grief, loneliness and sadness they might be experiencing this time of year. Rev. Jesse Larson and Rev. Janice Kamikawa led the service, which featured music by pianist Natalya Amelchenko and vocal soloist Barbara Greene. Many thanks to the volunteers who provided a delicious soup supper preceding the service.
