On December 8, Bethany hosted an informal “Blue Christmas” service—so named because it is common for people to feel a “bit blue” around the holiday season. The service enabled people to find solace and comfort from the grief, loneliness and sadness they might be experiencing this time of year.
Rev. Jesse Larson and Rev. Janice Kamikawa led the service, which featured music by pianist Natalya Amelchenko and vocal soloist Barbara Greene.
Bible passage included Psalms 22:1-5 and John 14: 26-27.
Hymns, led by Barbara Greene, were:
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
]In the Bleak Midwinter
Still, Still, Still
Many thanks to the volunteers who provided a complimentary soup supper for all prior to the service.
