SUNDAY, OCT. 25—We’re celebrating Reformation Sunday, when Martin Luther’s efforts began the “reformed tradition” that resulted in the Protestant church. On this day Bethany members and friends like to focus on Scotland, which is where the Presbyterian Church began. So … come in tartan or plaid if you have it; we will also have a tartan ribbon for you to wear. If you’d like to bake Scottish treats to share, pick up a recipe sheet from the bulletin board in the Social Hall. You can also download a copy here.
SUNDAY—Nov. 1—We’ll observe All Saints Sunday, when we honor “saints” from our past. Bring photos of deceased loved ones to place on the “life celebration tables” in the Social Hall. You’ll have a chance during the worship service to light candles in memory of those whose legacies are so precious. Cathy Sapunor will present a message about “memories” and Rev. Janice Kamikawa will officiate at communion.
