March Activity Report

At the March 20, 2026 meeting of the Bethany AC, the following matters were discussed, decided, and/or voted on:

  1. We welcomed the Rev. David Antonson as a new member. Rev. Antonson will be replacing the Rev. Dexter McNamara who will soon be retiring and moving to Oregon.

  2. We learned that Presbytery had not completed its review of the draft bylaws.

  3. We learned that a $45,000 withdrawal from the New Covenant funds is being regarded as a loan and will be repaid.

  4. We have begun a detailed review of session minutes starting with 2010 to ascertain what restrictions have been placed on donations and whether there has been the formal establishment of an endowment.

  5. We learned that an attorney has been found who has agreed to complete a review of the financial materials.

  6. We learned that a recent bill for insurance coverage had arrived marked “past due.”

  7. We have not yet received clarification regarding facility use by the Seventh Day Adventists, and will follow up.

  8. We learned that there are still many unanswered questions regarding facility use by SSIP and Grace.

  9. We noted that the annual statistical report has been completed and forwarded to Presbytery.

  10. We have conducted a “listening session” with a member of Bethany and have one more scheduled in the near future.

  11. Two AC members met via Zoom with a member of Bethany to initiate the “Grow the Church

  12. Easter Challenge,” as presented by John Fong.

  13. We decided against giving Bethany members any day to day governing authority at this time.

  14. We decided against organizing another general meeting with the Bethany congregation unless we have a specific purpose to meet.

  15. We declined to take any action to correct the Bethany deed recorded on Dec. 19, 2024.

    Respectfully submitted
    Maurine Huang, AC Secretary
