Rev. Elias Burgos led today’s worship service with a message entitled “Shrewdness in the Service of God.” He talked about resources and how they can best be use to further the work of God and the church. This message was of great importance as Bethany celebrated its 111th year of ministry today. The church was founded Sept. 20, 1914.
Scripture readings included Jeremiah 8:18-9:1, Psalm 113 and Luke 16:1-13.

The Bethany choir, directed by Barbara Greene, presented the anthem “Grace Alone.” Kathy Frank served as liturgist.
Jim Guida provided an especially entertaining “children’s message” that illustrated how “Jesus is the light of the world.”
