Rev. Jeanie Shaw led today’s service, which celebrated Mother’s Day. The scripture reading was Acts 11: 19-30. Rev. Jeanie’s message was “You Never Know How God is Going to Use You.” A special Mother’s Day candle-lighting litany highlighted the service.
Hymns, led by Jackie Sneed and accompanied by Manh Van Ong on the guitar, included:
For The Beauty Of The Earth
For All The Saints
We Are Called
Bind Us Together
We welcome home the Rev Jeanie Shaw as our preacher this morning. Jeanie has been a long-time friend of our congregation, serving as Parish Associate with the Rev. Lew Rooker. Jeanie is currently serving as the Ministry Engagement Advisor for the West for our Denomination, connecting Churches and Presbyteries with the ministry and mission of our Presbyterian Church (USA) in Alaska, Hawaii, Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho and Nevada. Her daughter, Keele, who was baptized at Bethany, is currently completing her residency in emergency medicine in Las Vegas. Jeanie wants our congregation to know what a joy it is to be invited back home to Bethany!
