Rev. Jesse Larson led today’s service, which marked the first Sunday of Lent—the weeks leading up to Easter. The scripture reading was Matthew 4:1-11—Jesus' experience in the wilderness with the devil. Jim Guida presented the “moment with the children”—two of whom were present and two others who were ill at home, participating via Facetime.
The following questions were posed during the sermon:
Do you have a word(s) that reflects your approach to life?
What are your core values?
Are there any values or behaviors that you'd like to improve or explore as we enter into Lent?
Hymns, accompanied by Natalya Guerrero—who also presented some beautiful piano arrangements—included:
Jesus, Who Throughout These Forty Days
Lord, You Have Come to the Lakeshore
As the Deer
Here I Am, Lord
