Today’s service—the fourth Sunday in Advent—was led by Rev. Jesse Larson. The scripture reading was Luke 2: 8-18.
The Advent wreath (featuring the Candle of Hope, the Candle of Peace, the Candle of Joy and the Candle of Love) was lit by Rev. Jesse Larson with Barbara Greene and Jim Carter serving as readers.
Guest musician Sherry McHurd Hanson, accompanied by Bethany pianist Natalya Amelchenko, performed several pieces on the viola. The Bethany Chancel Choi, directed by Trisha Uhrhammer, presented the anthem O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.
During the service, everyone was invited to come forward to view the créches put on display by church members and friends, and to light candles in memory of loved ones.
