Watch "The Wild Robot" at Bethany

  • Bethany Presbyterian Church 5625 24th Street Sacramento, CA, 95822 United States (map)

Bethany’s Movie Group invites everyone to join in seeing the animated film “The Wild Robot” in the church’s Farrand Hall Tuesday, March 17. Come at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments; the movie starts at 10 a.m. Wear something green as it’s St. Patrick’s Day!

Based on the Caldecott Honor-winning books by Peter Brown, ”The Wild Robot” tells of a robot stranded on an island populated not by familiar task-master humans but by hostile animals. It may sound like an odd choice of movie for adults, but this is the story of all who feel unwelcome, confused and isolated. Come and see how Robot Roz starts to map her own fate. … plus discover the love that comes with mentoring and parenting.

[The Wild Robot] delivers on the promise of a truly great animated feature: to express universal truths – love that defies logic, feelings that come from places we don’t understand, the bittersweet bargain of letting someone go so they can flourish – through the inorganic. If only all robot stories had this grand of a humanist vision.
