Monday, Dec. 22 (with a special Christmas activity)—How Shall We Study the Bible? What Is the Place of the Bible in Our Lives?
The series, produced through the Kerygma Program, is divided into 6 sessions. Kerygma (pronounced “care-EG-ma”) has been preparing thoughtfully researched materials for decades. The Kerygma core belief is that the scriptures (content of the Bible) “have been central to the life of the people of God in every age. They can and should continue to play their central role of shaping, informing, judging, inspiring, motivating and energizing faith and life.”
“The Kerygma approach can be characterized as ‘come and discover’ rather than ‘come and we’ll teach you something.’ Kerygma studies are intentionally written to avoid any slant or bias. They are designed to offer a guided reading of the Scriptures taking seriously the best information on study and educational methods. They do reflect a ‘Reformed’ perspective. Persons in mainline congregations as well as evangelically oriented congregations have found Kerygma studies respectful, engaging, and effective.”
