An afternoon of goodies and Scottish music takes place at Bethany Saturday, January 20. The event is hosted by Kilwinning Lodge #203 Daughters of Scotia, a local group whose members are of Scottish descent.
The event starts at 1 p.m. (doors open at 12:30 p.m.) and ends around 4 p.m.
There will be finger sandwiches and cookies, beverages and even a taste (if you dare!) of the traditional Scottish haggis.
Donation at the door is $15/person; children 10 and under are free. Reservations are recommended. RSVP to Sandy Welsh. Bethany members and friends: contact Cathy Sapunor to make your reservation.
The event marks the 265th birthday of Robert Burns—Scotland’s famous poet. Sacramento’s Kilwinning Lodge has been presenting the Burns Birthday celebration for 88 years.
