An afternoon of goodies and Scottish music takes place at Bethany Saturday, January 28. The event is hosted by Kilwinning Lodge #203 Daughters of Scotia, a local group whose members are of Scottish descent.
The event starts at 1 p.m. (doors open at 12:30 p.m.) and ends around 4 p.m.
There will be finger sandwiches and cookies, beverages and even a taste (if you dare!) of the traditional Scottish haggis.
Guest entertainer is singer-guitarist Scotland native Peter Daldry, who will present well-known (and much loved) songs.
Donation at the door is $15/person; children 10 and under are free. Reservations are recommended. .RSVP to Sandy Welsh. Bethany members and friends: contact Cathy Sapunor to make your reservation.
The event marks the 264th birthday of Robert Burns—Scotland’s famous poet. Sacramento’s Kilwinning Lodge has been presenting the Burns Birthday celebration for 87 years.
