Bethany is again organizing its Hot Cocoa Ministry, a service benefiting the SSIP Food Closet. We will return to our original mission of serving the hundreds of community members waiting in the cold morning weather for Thanksgiving groceries at the Food Closet.
Your help is needed to prepare cocoa, coffee and tea … slice bread … put cookies on plates … pour beverages … and assist with other hospitality tasks.
Show up at 7 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, in the church kitchen. Wear warm clothes and comfy shoes.
Helpers of all ages will be welcomed! Parents and grandparents, this is a wonderful opportunity to introduce children to the act of serving others.
You can also come to the church kitchen and help bake cookies and banana bread on Monday, November 21, from 9 a.m.-12 noon.
Questions? Contact Cathy Sapunor of the Mission & Social Action Commission at church. Or e-mail Cathy directly.
Can’t help? You can donate a package of napkins or paper hot cups, a container of instant cocoa mix or a pound of coffee! Let Cathy know if you need a donation to be picked up.
