What's Happening

At yesterday’s service, we welcomed back Elder Pat Terry, with an inspiring Pentecost Sunday message! This coming Sunday (May 31) Elder Jim Guida will preach.


Red balloons and attire graced the sanctuary in honor of Pentecost.


TODAY’s Bible study session (“Who Was Jesus?”) will not be held due to the Memorial Day holiday. The next gathering will be Monday, June 1 at 9:30 a.m. SHARP. Come at 9:15 for refreshments & social time. More details are here.


TODAY—May 25—Join with the Movie Group in seeing the new bio-pic “Michael.” The film starts at 10:15 a.m. at the Cinemark Century Laguna Theater, 9349 Big Horn Blvd., Elk Grove. Meet in the lobby at 9:45 a.m. Tickets are $7.25. More info is here.


WEDNESDAY, May 27—We will continue to enjoy “Coffee & Conversation” in the church Social Hall, 8:30-10:30 a.m. Enjoy free coffee and donuts This is the perfect excuse to get out of the house for a bit and hang with others. It’s informal; drop in any time. Come by yourself or bring a friend. Thank you, Mark Strack, for hosting this weekly event!


Thursday, May 28—Annual spring nature walk. Meet at the Cosumnes River Preserve at 10 a.m. [NOTE: CHANGE OF TIME. ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR 9 a.m.] for a brief devotional & a time of sauntering through the flora & fauna. We’ll enjoy a light brunch tailgate-style. Free! Wheelchair- and walker-friendly. SUNDAY, June 14—Annual “Graduate Recognition Sunday.” Whether it's a graduation from preschool, high school, certification program, college, whatever ... we want to include the names of your special loved ones as we formally invoke God’s blessings on our graduates. Please get names of your grads to the church office by Friday, June 12. Graduates need not be present.


CAN YOU LEND A HAND? We can use a few people to help with small tasks (lighting candles, setting out the offering plates, etc.) on Sundays in the 30 minutes prior to the start of the worship service. Show up & report for duty any Sunday morning in the sanctuary around 10 a.m. & you will be welcomed with grateful hearts! There’s a sign-up sheet on the table in the sanctuary.
