January Activity Report

At the January 8, 2026 meeting of the Bethany AC, the following matters were discussed, decided, and/or voted on:

  1. We approved the proposed 2026 budget.

  2. We noted that the 2025 end-of-year financial statement indicates that Bethany’s income exceeded its expenses in 2025.

  3. We noted that the 2026 Bethany budget includes a $1,000 donation to SSIP.

  4. We have made progress supporting the team writing new bylaws and commend them for their diligent work. Two more meetings scheduled for late January.

  5. We are working to identify persons interested in joining Bethany.

  6. We continue to schedule meetings to listen to various persons of the congregation.

  7. We have/will meet with leaders from Grace Community Church and SSIP.

  8. We are awaiting a draft agreement between the Seventh Day Adventist group and Bethany.

  9. We are awaiting the donor and purpose of a recent $10,000 donation.

  10. We continue to learn about best practices re: restricted funds in faith communities, to gather documents and information about the 10 restricted funds and to find an attorney to provide their legal parameters. [NOTE: this is different from the original which was about seeking to understand the finances]

  11. We continue seeking commissioners to the February and May presbytery assembly meetings.

  12. We reviewed the agenda and protocol for the upcoming annual meeting.
