World Communion Sunday—a time to celebrate solidarity with Christians around the world—was celebrated today. Rev. Jesse Larson talked about overcoming challenges with the help of good friends—particularly friends who share one’s faith—and about the beauty of friendships across the globe. Elder Trisha Uhrhammer presented a “Moment for Mission” and told of the history of World Communion Sunday, which had its start in the Presbyterian Church.
During the service new elders were ordained and welcomed into leadership in the church.
Communion was served. If you are watching from home, please have bread and beverage ready to partake while you view.
Music was provided by pianist Natalya Amelchenko. Among the hymns sung were:
In Christ There Is No East or West
Sheaves of Summer
Blest Be the Tie That Binds
I Come With Joy, A Child of God
