Pentecost Sunday • June 8, 2025

Pentecost Sunday—considered to be the “birth” of the Christian Church—was observed June 8 by Bethany. Quite a few people showed up wearing red, the Pentecost color. Red balloons graced the sanctuary, adding to the spirit of the day. The worship table was decorated with numerous candles symbolizing the “tongues of fire” that appeared above the heads of Jesus’s followers on Pentecost. Special refreshments followed the service.
