Children Receive Bethany Bears on "Share Sunday"
At Bethany’s September 18 “Share Sunday” (observed at many Presbyterian churches as “Evangelism Sunday”), children were presented with keepsake “Bethany Bears.” Handcrafted by church volunteers, each Bethany Bear is slightly different in appearance—symbolizing the diversity of our church community and the world we serve as Christ’s ambassadors. Elder Jim Guida gave the bears during his “children’s moment” during the worship service.

Church Retreat Attended by 20 People
Bethany’s 2022 Friends & Family Retreat took place last weekend (August 12-14) at scenic Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center, located on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe. The twenty participants shared creative activities and experiences as they learned about the prophet Isaiah and his beautiful, timeless words of encouragement and promise. The theme of the retreat, which was led by Rev. Judy Davis, was “Isaiah in the Coffee House.”

Many thanks to the planning committee which worked very hard to prepare this annual event: Peter Baird, Joy Bonds-Baird, Rev. Judy Davis, Marilee Keene, Cathy Sapunor and Trisha Uhrhammer.
Bethany’s 2023 retreat is set for August 11-13—again at lovely Lake Tahoe—so mark your calendar! Registration info will be available in spring 2023.
