Blessing of the Pets • October 4, 2026

Cherished pets each received a special blessing at Bethany’s annual “Blessing of the Pets” event held Sunday, October 4 on the church lawn. Numerous pups, several cats, a dozen “stuffies”—much-loved stuffed animals—and an iguana were present with their humans. Elder Cathy Sapunor welcomed attendees and officiated over the blessings, assisted by elders Barbara Greene and Kathy Frank. Today marked the 800th year since the death of St. Francis, the patron saint of animals and the environment.
