Dear Brothers and Sisters at Bethany,

In recent weeks we have shared two "Focusing the Future" conversations after worship, and identified the joys, hopes, and challenges that you are experiencing through Bethany Presbyterian Church.'

As we noted in the second conversation, on June 23rd, there is a deep desire for a healthy ministry in the midst of church decline. And some creative thinking is already percolating among the fellowship.

On Sunday, July 21st, we will gather once again to think forward with hope. The questions in these "Focus..." discussions will center around both the realities which the church is facing, and possible creative solutions for the future. I hope that you will be able to join us for these positive conversations.

Meanwhile, the Administrative Commission wants to especially thank the Elder Shepherds (serving Session elders) of Bethany for their energetic team building and positive partnership in maintaining the worship and mission life of the church.

And we want to especially note the visionary work of Susan Just and others who have made the "cooling center" facility available during these extremely hot days. What an outpouring of Christian compassion!

I'm looking forward to our hope-filled brainstorming after worship on July 21st.
