Rev. Jesse Larson led today’s service, which celebrated Earth Day (observed throughout the world on April 22). The scripture reading was Genesis 1:24-31—the story of creation.
Jim Guida presented the children’s message, giving each child a small plant to cherish and tend at home.
Each worship service attendee received a hand-painted stone as a keepsake.
Pianist Natalya Guerrero presented several musical arrangements and accompany the singing of hymns, which included:
Christ is Alive
For the Beauty of the Earth
Without Seeing You (led by Cathy Sapunor)
This is My Father’s World
The communion table was decorated with assorted nature-themed items (rocks, pine cones, etc.) and a large paper butterfly adorned the cross. Beautiful floral arrangements designed by Julie Nguyen completed the decor.
