Rev. Jesse Larson led today’s service, which kicked off the season of Advent—the time leading up to Christmas. The sanctuary—newly decorated that morning by volunteers—featured greenery and a new Christmas tree. The Advent wreath was lit by Amalia Barton and Marcie Hettenbach. The scripture reading was Matthew 24:29-30; 36-44. Sylvia Alamillo presented the anthem “His Eye is on the Sparrow.” Pianist Natalya Amelchenko presented several musical arrangements.
Hymns included:
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
Lift Up Your Heads, Ye Mighty Gates
Watchman, Tell Us of the Night
While We Are Waiting, Come
O Lord, How Shall I Meet You?
