Bethany Volunteers Serve at Zephyr Point’s Annual Volunteer Work Weekend

Nine Bethany members and family attended the annual fall “Sprucing Up in the Pines” volunteer work weekend at Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Center (Lake Tahoe) October 22-24, 2021.

Tasks such as constructing new porch safety panels, raking, weeding and removing dead brush were performed by our crew. A special project was installing a new light for the Crawford Memorial deck, which was originally built by Bethany’s youth group more than three decades ago and refurbished in the past 10 years by Bethany volunteers.

In addition to offering retreats, continuing education and other programs for church-goers, Zephyr Point provides low-cost (or free) Christian-based day camp for hundreds of Tahoe-area children and youth each summer. Bethany’s support helps make it possible for this vital outreach to continue.

Representing Bethany at the volunteer work weekend were: David and Linda Betts; Cathy Betts Sapunor; Janice, Paul and John Douglas; Gary Gardner; and Brian and Delynn Powell.
