Administrative Commission Update • January 7, 2025

Dear Friends at Bethany,

Happy New Year!

I was reminded the other day about what makes a new year "happy." It is not the new things we might acquire in the months ahead. Nor is it the New Year's resolutions actually kept for a while. And it isn't so much about the dreams we have for the unfolding future coming true (though all of that certainly represents blessings)!

What makes a Happy New Year happy is the people we share all of those good things with!

And on Christmas Eve we saw a lovely reminder of that truth as members jumped into action for your sister Tavifa (your Christmas Eve pianist), as her car window was smashed and beloved possessions were stolen.

Bethany members were there for her, offering comfort, helping to pay for some of the damages, and extending the Grace that our New-born Savior, the Prince of Peace has brought.

As she recovers from the shock and the loss of Christmas Eve, her new year is not yet filled with happiness. But wherever the saints extend our Lord's blessings like that there is goodness in the face of evil—light breaking into the darkness—and a testimony to the love that can bind us all together in the new year!

To the friends who pitched in, thank you for your model of Christian grace and care! And to all who enter the new year in fellowships of love, may it truly be a Happy New Year for you and your loved ones!

Wishing you blessings,
Rick Hull
