The Presbyterian Church (USA) is typically governed by a board of elected elders, called "the Session." Session is moderated by the pastor of the church, and includes a clerk who keeps records of all the meetings.
In spring 2024, during Bethany’s transition time—a period without a called pastor—the Session was rechristened as “Bethany Shepherds.” This group of elected elders meets regularly with a team chosen by the Presbytery to help Bethany with its governance, decision-making and planning.
