Rev. Jesse Larson led today’s service, which featured the scripture reading Luke 18:9-17—a parable about the Pharisee and the tax collector and Jesus welcoming the children. Bethany’s two new ruling elders, Jim Guida and Susan Just were installed as ruling elders of the congregation.
During his sermon, Rev. Jesse encouraged attendees to think how they would respond to these questions:
What has been an unforeseen gift in your time at Bethany
Have you experienced any shattered expectations in your life?
How do we open ourselves up to the unexpected? How do we make room for mystery in our lives?
Jim Guida presented the childen’s message. Natalya Guerrero presented several musical arrangements and accompanied the singing of hymns:
