Today Rev. Jesse Larson reads Luke 24:13-35—the story of the disciples' encounter with the resurrected Jesus (whom they did until later recognize) on the road to Emmaus.
In the Bible passage, we hear the how the disciples’ “hearts burned” with passion and reverence. Rev. Jesse asks what makes our own hearts burn? What fills us with joy? What do we individually find ourselves clinging to when recovering from loss and disappointment?
Pianist Natalya Amelchenko presents several musical arrangements. Sing-along hymns include “How Firm a Foundation” and “The Lone, Wild Bird.”
