After the close of the church retreat on August 15, 2021, Cathy Sapunor stopped for coffee at her favorite South Lake Tahoe shop. She was enjoying her iced mocha when surprised by a hearty slap on the back … from a California black bear. The video was shot just 10 seconds later, from the safety of the Alpina Cafe door. No injuries—just a couple of welts on the shoulder from the bear’s unsheathed paws!
