Reformation Sunday Is Oct. 29

Bethany will again observe Reformation Sunday by celebrating with special Scottish refreshments on Sunday, October 29. The worship service starts 10:30 a.m., with goodies at 11:30 a.m. Wear tartan or plaid! We’ll have live bagpipe music by Neil Henderson to rouse your spirits.

We’re again sharing the authentic Scottish shortbread recipe of Bethany member Myra Cowan. Make a pan at home … and if you can make it to the worship service, bring a plate-full with you to share! Click here to view/download it. We are thankful to Myra for coaching Bethany bakers in the making of this wonderful treat!

Reformation Sunday is celebrated annually in memory of Martin Luther, whose courage and commitment led to upheaval in the prevailing church and to the subsequent formation of the Protestant tradition. The Presbyterian Church—founded on Protestant tenets—got its start in Scotland.

Unable to attend in person? Watch on Facebook Live starting 10:20 a.m..
