Bethany volunteers periodically “take to the streets” to personally give out water bottles, personal care items, gloves, hats and socks to those who are homeless , , , listening to them with open hearts , , , and praying with them. Donations for the “Widow’s Mite” fund helps Mission & Social Action Commission volunteers purchase these necessities. Patterned after the bible story told by Jesus about the generous poor widow, the Widow’s Mite collection welcomes even the smallest of contributions. You can help see that homeless persons in the community are cared for by sending a check (made payable to Bethany Presbyterian Church, with “Widow’s Mite” on the memo line) or online through the Give page (note that the gift is for the Widow’s Mite fund).
