The Kings Visit Bethany on January 9

The “three wise men” were special guests at Bethany’s January 9, 2022, worship service, bearing gifts for everyone in attendance. Many thanks to magi Tom Uhrhammer, Paul Douglas and Ron Carlson—and to Alex Medina, who carried the star leading the kings to the birthplace of Jesus. Worship decorations included a large trifold “kings” panel (on loan from Kathy Kenney Frank) and a small display of frankincense and myrrh from the Holy Land—a gift to pastor Rev. Jesse Larson from his father. You will also notice a small ceramic “village” symbolizing Bethlehem and numerous stars representing the heraldic star the wise men are historically said to have followed for months on their travels to Bethlehem. A brass bowl contained paper stars bearing specific words for everyone to take home and pray/reflect upon in the coming year.
