Holy Week at Bethany
Holy week is when the church remembers in its worship, the last week of Jesus' earthly life, beginning with Palm Sunday, and ending on Easter Morning. This year, Holy week begins on Sunday March 25 and ends on April 1st, in Easter celebration of the resurrection of Jesus. We hope you'll join us for worship this week!
Palm Sunday (10:30am, March 25)
A processional of the palms leads the congregation into worship and reflection on the irony of Jesus "triumphal entry" into the city where he will be arrested, tried, and crucified.
Good Friday (8pm, March 29)
A meditative service remembering the self-giving love of Christ, and reflecting on the violence we do to one another in an effort to gain or maintain power in this world.
Easter Sunday (10:30am, April 1)
A Celebration of God's final victory over violence and death, and a recommitment of our own lives to the risen Christ, that we might partner with him, living peace and freedom into reality within history.
There's a place for you here. If you are seeking a church home, we invite you to visit and learn more about Bethany. You'll find us to be a friendly, all-ages church open to everyone who wants to learn more about Christ ... for everyone who wants to make a positive difference in the local and world community.
Bethany has come to be known for its openness and welcoming ways. We are diverse in membership, with varying viewpoints and coming from many different walks of life. We share in common a simple yet profound belief: that we are called by Christ to be his ambassadors in the world.
We look forward to seeing you in worship, participating in one of our activities, or perhaps even volunteering your time with a community service, mission or ministry project.
