Annual Hot Chocolate Ministry & Food Closet Volunteer Morning

Bethany’s Hot Chocolate Ministry to clients of the local food closet is held on the Monday prior to Thanksgiving. Volunteers serve warm beverages and goodies — and smiles — to those waiting in line on the busiest day of the year at the South Sacramento Interfaith Partnership Food Closet, which is housed at Bethany Church.

Sign-ups for this local mission opportunity start each year in late October. Church members and friends are encouraged to volunteer time, baking skills (muffins and cookies are most appreciated!) and donations of hot cocoa mix, coffee, paper “hot cups” and napkins. Send an e-mail if you would like to be put on the “Yes, I will help!” list, or if you have any questions.

We also need helpers that morning to sort donated canned/packaged goods contributed through the KCRA Kids Can program.

Bethany’s 2017 Hot Chocolate Ministry and Food Closet Volunteer Morning will be Monday, November 20 from 7 a.m.-12 noon. Show up in the church kitchen any time between 7-11 a.m. to help prepare and serve refreshments (note: more help is needed between 7-9 a.m.) … or 8:30 a.m.-12 noon to help sort canned goods in the Social Hall.
